Participating at this year’s GIBTM, the Dubai Convention and Events Bureau (DCEB), a division of the Dubai Department of Commerce and Tourism Marketing (DTCM), is to showcase the emirate’s incentive offering.
DCEB has revealed that Dubai will welcome the single largest incentives group in its history from April 6-16, 2014, comprising of over 14,500 delegates from Nu Skin Enterprises in China.
With business events and incentive tourism at the core of Dubai’s Tourism Vision 2020, DTCM and DCEB’s participation at GIBTM comes as part of the mission to grow awareness of the emirate’s offering, both regionally and internationally.
Next month, the incentive mega-group will make use of numerous chartered and commercial Emirates Airline flights to travel from various cities in China in addition to over 25 high-end Dubai hotels and dozens of transport coaches during their stay in the Emirate.
Arriving in seven overlapping waves, the delegates will be treated to an array of leisure experiences and training opportunities featuring extensive sightseeing around the Emirate, abra rides across the creek, shopping trips to Dubai Mall and workshops at The Meydan Hotel.
Commenting this was executive director of business tourism, DTCM, Hamad Mohammed Bin Mejren: “GIBTM is the Middle East’s main stage for the business travel industry and the perfect platform to promote Dubai’s exciting incentive offer. The emirate’s location between East and West along with its world-class infrastructure and year-round calendar of events makes it the perfect hub for groups of any size.
“While we are preparing to promote Dubai to event organisers at GIBTM, we are also extremely pleased to announce that we will be welcoming the largest group in Dubai’s history. This visit will reflect well on our capabilities and is a sign of things to come. China is a key target market for Dubai, both in terms of business and leisure tourism, and we have no doubt all guests have a great time while they are here.”
Helping to coordinate the incentive group during its visit to Dubai will be Arabian Adventures, Dubai Airports and the Roads and Transport Authority, in addition to dozens of other tourism and logistics partners.
