Four Seasons Mexico offers pre-Hispanic and Mexican massages

Four Seasons Hotel Mexico is offering what it describes as unique and authentic massages, with pre-Hispanic and Mexican roots, at its spa.
The spa presents a full range of massages, but the most popular are the pre-Hispanic and Mexican massage, which were introduced this year with great success.
The pre-Hispanic massage is inspired by Mexico’s origins through the elements that compose it with pre-Hispanic music; the sounds of drums, conchs and whistles. A number of elements make up the experience, including ingestion of mescal with chocolate, spiritual cleansing with copal (an aromatic resin) and a sensory massage with mezcal and oil.
The hotel claims that the combination of these elements helps balance the harmony of the body by activating the emotional energetic blood circulation.
The Mexican massage includes a massage that is focussed on physical well-being, with tequila incorporated into the experience. Tequila reportedly helps control some diseases, such as ulcerative colitis and colon problems when ingested. Oil is applied on the body with an antiseptic that helps eliminate bacteria, with the use of sage oil to relax the muscles.
The massage technique includes rubbing tequila all over the body before the massage begins. Hot aromatic mini-sacks are then placed on the back to sooth and relax.
The massages are given by highly trained therapists, and can be enjoyed in the hotel's Athletic Club or in the comfort of a guest's own room.
