Mercure has announced that the extensive revamp of its properties is on schedule and it plans to expand its international network further.
In 2010,
Mercure initiated its global refurbishment programme and now close to 50 per cent of the brand’s rooms have been renovated or are in line with the brand’s new vision.
Mercure confirmed this renovation pace which ensures that 10 to 15 per cent (10,000 bedrooms) of its establishments are refurbished each year – depending on the geographic regions –and that the renovation programme will be completed within four to five years.
COO – Hotels France, Accor, Christophe Alaux commented: “The renovations are based on a reinterpretation of the codes of the city in which the hotel is located. The idea is to give
Mercure an image worthy of its network, to reinforce its coherence while respecting its diversity.
“The project has been met with great enthusiasm by the franchisees, who will benefit from the image of a strong, attractive and coherent brand.”
Mercure is due to expand further into Eastern Europe and is also expected to develop its network in Latin America in 2013. The brand also has plans to grow its network in the UK and Italy.
