New InterContinental property to open in Dubai in 2013

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has signed an agreement with Dubai-based property developer, Select Group, to open InterContinental Dubai Marina.
The hotel will be part of the Bay Central development in the Marina area of Dubai, with rooms and residential suites available.
The hotel is scheduled to open by the end of 2013 and is located in close proximity to Jumeirah Beach Residences (JBR) beach. It will feature 132 rooms and 196 InterContinental Residential Suites, including studios, one, two, three and four bedroom apartments. It will also encompass eight food and beverage outlets, including restaurants, bars and a 600m² night club.
Spa, health club and outdoor swimming pool and pool deck round up the leisure offerings. For business travellers, the hotel reports to offer a suite of facilities, including a boardroom and eight meeting rooms, the largest of which will accommodate 100 people.
Commenting on the announcement was COO – India, the Middle East and Africa, IHG, Pascal Gauvin, who said: “The Dubai Marina is a fantastic hub of activity for guests looking to experience everything Dubai has to offer. It’s close to great shopping malls as well as one of Dubai’s most popular beaches. The InterContinental Dubai Marina will perfectly complement its sister hotel in the city, InterContinental Dubai Festival City, and we are looking forward to opening the hotel by the end of next year.”
This hotel will become the third InterContinental in the UAE, joining InterContinental Abu Dhabi and InterContinental Dubai Festival City.
