Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman joined millions of people around the world on April 22 to celebrate Earth Day, the largest and most widely celebrated environmental event.
The management and staff of
Ramada Ajman held various activities during the day to increase awareness and appreciation of Earth’s natural environment and be informed of the issues that threaten it.
Some of the activities were the group’s morning briefing held in the garden area instead of the meeting rooms to save on energy. The executives and employees were also encouraged to use the staircase to save on energy and to also promote a healthy lifestyle. Shared transportation was recommended instead of solo transportation and the staff were instructed to switch off lights in offices, board rooms and conference rooms when not needed.
General manager, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman, Iftikhar Hamdani said: “Earth Day is the day designated for fostering appreciation of the earth’s environment. It is the only planet in our solar system teeming with incredible biodiversity and learning about and protecting this biodiversity is what Earth Day is all about.
“We need to protect plants and animals and to clean up the world we live in. We are facing a lot of environmental challenges and protecting Earth is every person’s and every country’s responsibility. We at Ramada Ajman joined the rest of the world taking responsibility of protecting our Earth!”
Ramada Ajman is very active in its environmental activities. The property’s Green Committee spearheads all activities pertaining to environmental awareness and creates ways to minimise costs and save energy such as re-using papers for printing of internal documents, recycling toner cartridges and collection of non-biodegradable materials for proper disposal and constant reminders on switching off lights and other electronic equipment when not on use.
