Sonesta to open boutique hotel in Doha

Sonesta International Hotels and Al Madaen group have signed a contract to manage and operate Sonesta Hotel Doha in Qatar, reportedly the first Sonesta-branded five-star boutique hotel in the Gulf region.

It has been reported that the first phase of Sonesta Hotel Doha has been scheduled for completion at the end of 2014, with a capacity of 260 rooms and suites.
The hotel will be located in the heart of Doha, in close proximity to the city’s business centres and Doha International Airport.
The decision to base Sonesta’s first project in the Gulf region was based on the status of the Qatari economy, reportedly one of the fastest growing economies in the world, as well as Doha becoming a global centre of attraction of foreign direct invesement.
