Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) has announced that its website has been upgraded and refreshed.
The new website is now supported by a wide range of social media channels, and provides travellers with in-depth information about the emirate, available in eight different languages. Travellers can find out information on Abu Dhabi’s
attractions, experiences, culture, heritage and events taking place there.
The website also features a hotel search option that collects live deals and room availability from over 50 booking engines for visitors to find information about hotels before they book. The tool is reported to also assist hotels in achieving higher online sales, due to traffic coming to the booking engines via the destination website’s new search facility.
The website provides the filters and the search, and allows the consumer to decide which hotel to book with. Hotels make the rooms available online, with their preferred booking sites.
TCA Abu Dhabi stated that the website is more consumer-orientated, but also acts as a base for the launch of the destination’s social media channels, providing the opportunity for more interaction from travellers to the website.
An Abu Dhabi 360° competition is running throughout the month of June when they subscribe to the website’s planned e-newsletter. Additionally, by joining the website’s registered users’ club, visitors can stay in touch with news from Abu Dhabi, find out more about what to see and do, where to stay and eat, and win a special holiday.
The competition is run in partnership with Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, which will offer the winner a special trip around Abu Dhabi. The winning package includes: return business class tickets to Abu Dhabi with Etihad Airways, transportation from Abu Dhabi International Airport to hotels and back, and a total of six nights and breakfast at the newly opened, five-star Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara, the luxurious Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort & Spa by Anantara, and the relaxing Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara.
The website will go through a second stage, scheduled to be completed by the end of 2012, and will include iPhone and iPad apps, interactive maps, flight booking, car rental and additional social media channels.
