THAI announces special flight arrangements for Hajj

Thai Airways (THAI) has announced special flight arrangements for Thai Muslims planning to go on the Hajj Pilgrimage to Makkah. It is anticipated that this year, approximately 6,000 pilgrims will be transported.

THAI, Dullayapong Sukhanusas said that in 2012, the cabinet and the committee for the support of Hajj activities in Thailand appointed THAI to be the organising carrier that will operate special flights for Thai Muslims from the south participating in the Hajj Pilgrimage as conducted in the past.
This year, THAI is due to organise special Hajj flights during September 17 to November 15, maintaining dedication to passenger convenience, safety, and punctuality.
A total of 42 inbound and outbound flights are expected to be operated, utilising Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a 295-seat capacity, which is anticipated to serve approximately 6,000 passengers.
During this period, flights to Jeddah are scheduled to operate as double daily flights departing from Hat Yai at a total of 19 flights, one daily flight will depart from Phuket, and one flight will depart from Krabi.
The first flight is expected to depart from Hat Yai on September 17, 2012 which is the first day of the pilgrimage. Flight departure and arrival times may change depending on approval that THAI receives from the Department of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia.
