On a mission to promote Abu Dhabi as a leading MICE destination, the Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau’s (ADCB) UK team recently concluded a month of special events targeting the business travel market.
The promotional initiative began with an event held in partnership with Jumeirah Hotels and Etihad Airways, which was attended by Ambassador of the UAE to the UK, HE Sulaiman Hamid Almazroui.
A total of 24 MICE buyers united to meet and conduct business with senior Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau representatives and stakeholders. A destination update shed light on new attractions, hotels and event spaces within the emirate.
Attendees enjoyed an evening of Arabian entertainment and delicious food at the Grosvenor House Suites by Jumeirah Living, located on London’s Park Lane, while interactive stations granted attendees the opportunity to create their own perfume and watch a calligrapher create personalised name cards.
The UK-based ADCB team also embarked on a UK sales mission alongside ADNEC and Hala Abu Dhabi, during which they met with event buyers in London, Bournemouth and Manchester. The team provided an overview of the role ADCB plays in bringing events to the emirate and how they can assist planners with free and impartial advice.
Those attending the Manchester event were hosted in a corporate box at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium ground for the football club’s game against Watford, which provided the backdrop to a presentation by stakeholders.
