Organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), Abu Dhabi Marketplace (a useful networking event for the travel and trade industry) successfully took place yesterday (February 25) at Rixos Saadiyat Island hotel.
The event united key industry stakeholders, who used their expertise to tackle challenges in the tourism sector and discuss future business opportunities.
Abu Dhabi Marketplace featured 53 destination management companies and 67 hotels and attractions from Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra, who came together to discuss the various issues affecting the travel and trade marketplace. The B2B event additionally explored the success of individual projects, including Qasr Al Hosn and Louvre Abu Dhabi, as well as individual sectors, such as the cruise industry.
Abu Dhabi Convention & Exhibition Bureau director, DCT Abu Dhabi, Mubarak Al Shamisi commented: “The Abu Dhabi Marketplace networking event fulfilled a key mandate of DCT Abu Dhabi; facilitating wider and closer interaction between government and private sector stakeholders to develop improved communication and align industry efforts to increase the volume of visitors to the emirate.
“The event also served to inform, engage and address challenges, and we hope the event generated positive outcomes for all participants,” he concluded.
Attendees included Expedia, Emirates Holidays, Nirvana Travel, Odeon Tours and Dnata Travel, among many others.
