Enhancing its destination portfolio to offer its customers more variety, Air Arabia will be introducing a new service to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, on March 23, 2017.
The new flights are a result of a partnership between Air Arabia, Azerbajian Airlines and local authorities. The Sharjah-based low-cost carrier will operate four weekly flights from Sharjah International Airport.
Enthusing on the news was group CEO, Air Arabia, Adel Al Ali: “Baku offers an exciting proposition as a gateway to witness the confluence of history and modern urbanism. By adding this emerging destination to our growing network, Air Arabia will facilitate greater trade and tourism between the two countries. We thank the local authorities in Azerbaijan for all their efforts and cooperation leading to the launch of the new service connecting Sharjah and Baku.”
The city of Baku recently strengthened its presence on the global arena after hosting the European Grand Prix. The city has also been named a host for the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament.
