Sharjah International Airport (SIA) has announced the expansion of its global network.
Via SIA, Air India Express – Air India’s budget airline – now offers services to Surat International Airport in the western Indian state of Gujarat, aiming to capitalise on the growth in demand for travel to the destination.
Air India Express operates two weekly flights from SIA to Surat International Airport, on Saturday and Monday at 19:35. During the summer season, the airline will increase services to four weekly flights.
Air India Express plays an important role in increasing passenger movement through SIA and in meeting the growing demand for travel via the hub.
SIA plans to build and strengthen partnerships with increasing numbers of international airlines, while continuing to provide leading services to all passengers and airlines operating at the airport.
With the launch of this new route, Air India Express now operates direct flights between Sharjah and nine cities in India, in addition to 47 non-stop flights between Indian airports and GCC destinations.
