The recently concluded Airport Show 2016 was reported to be the most successful show of the 16 editions to date, with exhibitors making a record number of potential business deals.
The show welcomed more than 7,500 aviation industry delegates hailing from all four corners of the globe.
President, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority; chairman, Dubai Airports; and chairman and chief executive, Emirates Airline and Group, HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum declared: “The Airport Show has seen double-digit growth this year reflecting the strong interest and an unwavering global confidence in the Middle East, particularly in the UAE, which is making significant investments in the sector, actively embracing latest technological innovations, and opening doors of tremendous opportunities for global industry players.
“It’s a clear message that the MENA region is one of the most important markets and its growth can be a driving force for international aviation industry,” he added.
The three-day airport event welcomed over 300 exhibitors from over 55 countries. Throughout the show, more than 25 new products and high technology solutions were introduced to the Middle East for the first time.
Meanwhile, over 3,500 meetings took place between buyers and exhibitors, setting yet another record.
This year, the Airport Show witnessed a 10 per cent jump in the number of attendees, equating to 7,500 industry professionals and experts.
Group exhibition director, Reed Exhibitions Middle East (organiser of the show), Daniyal Qureshi enthused: “The show has been a resounding success and reaffirms our belief that the Middle East region still offers the greatest opportunities for global airport suppliers looking to expand their business.”
He added that the Airport Show was visited by authorities from all GCC countries, decision makers and aviation professionals from across the world.
“The region has made a commitment to develop the friendliest, smartest and most advanced facilities for global travellers and authorities from all GCC countries, as well as other regions, were at the show to welcome suppliers from over 55 countries,” Qureshi concluded.
