Following a successful four-day trip to Germany, Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) returned home, having completed its mission to promote Ajman to the fruitful German market.
The Ajman delegation met with 10 of the country’s top tour operators who all expressed interest in the emirate.
Cluster director of sales and marketing, Fairmont Ajman, Khaled Al-Idrissi, who was part of the delegation, remarked: “It is very positive to come in as a group and make an impact for the destination. It has given us the leverage to negotiate and create plans that are not individualistic in nature but indeed address the need for the hotels in the right time. They are interested in the aspects of the traditional culture that is more dominant in Ajman than in our neighbouring emirates. In addition, we do see the need to highlight the nature reserve which has been viewed as a positive spin by the German marketplace.”
The four-day tour took the delegation to Munich, Duisburg, Hanover, Frankfurt, Oberursel and Baden Baden. Meetings were held with Fairway1, TravelZoo, Design Reisen, FTI Group, Schauinsland, TUI Group, DER Touristik, Thomas Cook, Binoli and L’TUR.
General manager, ATDD, HE Faisal Al Nuaimi also remarked on the initiative: “Overall, we had very productive meetings which allowed us to experience first-hand the vast opportunities for collaboration with German tour operators and travel agencies that will contribute to the growth of Ajman’s tourism industry. We are pleased with the result of the trip and will apply the different strategies and recommendations that we gathered from our partners.”
