Aiming to expand into new markets across the GCC, Akbar Travel has selected Sabre Corporation, a global technology company, to augment its online customer experience offering, drive operational efficiencies and support its worldwide expansion.
The travel company will be investing in new technology, including mobile, online, data and automation capabilities, to ensure a more personalised travel experience for customers.
“Sabre’s global expertise, extensive knowledge and understanding of the dynamic global travel eco-system helped us take the right steps when expanding in the region,” stated founder and chairman, Akbar Travel, K.V. Abdul Nazar. “Their team’s extensive industry network across all GCC countries and their accessibility has been valuable in supporting our strategic roadmap for this vital travel region across the Middle East.”
As an established travel management company with an extensive presence in India and the Middle East, Akbar Travel is vigorously pursuing both domestic and overseas expansion, and has recently inaugurated its online agency services in the UAE.
Commercial director for GCC and global partners, Sabre Travel Network Middle East, Ramzi Al Qassab commented: “The regional travel industry is rapidly evolving, driven by changing consumer and traveller expectations, and the availability of new technology. Agencies looking for long-term sustainable growth need to understand these changes, and evolve their business strategies and technology investments to reflect how their customers want to shop and buy travel in future.
He concluded: “It’s an exciting time for the travel industry, and the next few years will see it evolve even faster than it is today.”
