In light of the upcoming World Food Day on October 16, Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel recently teamed up with some of Muscat’s most prominent hotels for a special initiative.
Complementing the United Nations’ #ZeroHunger and healthy eating theme, the resort’s employees joined over 180 members from Shangri-La Al Husn Resort & Spa and Shangri-La Barr Al Jissa Resort & Spa, The Chedi Muscat, Grand Hyatt Muscat, Kempinski Hotel Muscat, Sheraton Oman Hotel, Sundus Rotana Muscat and W Muscat in a food cart race at LuLu Hypermarket in Darsait.

During the race’s third annual edition this year, the teams raised $15,843, which was complemented by a donation of $520 from Lulu Hypermarket.
World Food Day commemorates the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in 1945. As a celebrated day of the UN calendar, numerous events and activities bring together governments, businesses, NGOs, the media and general public to raise worldwide awareness of those who suffer from hunger and the need for a healthy lifestyle.
