Almosafer unveils domestic packages and promotional campaign for Saudis

Saudi Arabia’s omnichannel travel brand, Almosafer, has shed light on its new, holistic strategy to support the development of domestic tourism in the Kingdom.

The group has launched tailored domestic packages and a 360-degree promotional campaign that aims to stimulate domestic travel bookings and encourage Saudi nationals to explore the beauty of their own country over the next few months.

This move is in response to the findings of the brand’s first-of-its-kind study of Saudis’ mindsets in relation to post pandemic travel, which found that almost 40 per cent of Saudi nationals are keen to experience the growing cultural, adventure and entertainment offering at home, including the Farasan Islands off the coast of Jizan, the Fifa Mountains in Asir, or the Deesa Great Valley in Tabuk.

In order to cater to the growing demand for domestic leisure travel, Almosafer is investing its resources to guarantee Saudis memorable experiences while guiding them on every step of their journey. The group will offer anything from comprehensive city guides developed by local travel experts, solid travel advice and counsel, to engaging content that brings to life the main regional attractions and cultural heritage.

Vice president of retail, Almosafer, Fahad Alobailan explained: “Our Government has a clear mission to highlight and grow Saudi Arabia’s diverse domestic tourism offering. Almosafer, the largest homegrown omnichannel travel agent, sees this as a great opportunity to support tourism development efforts in the Kingdom and showcase the growing cultural, adventure and entertainment offering. The brand’s understanding of the Saudi market and local mindset, in addition to its integrated omni-channel platform puts it in a strong position to offer local travellers unrivaled travel advice across various touch points and channels including our call centres, email, WhatsApp, app and web, social and in-store that will serve our customers across 22 cities.”

Alobailan continued: “The pandemic has changed the way people view travel globally and has prompted a higher demand for domestic leisure travel, especially in Saudi Arabia where domestic travel was mostly dominated by business trips. Our domestic offering has allowed us to work closely with local vendors and tour operators to create inspirational itineraries tailored for Saudis and give our industry partners a broader reach and accessibility to the local market.”

Meanwhile, executive vice president, Almosafer, Muzzammil Ahussain also noted: “Saudi travellers are eager to venture out and explore, and Almosafer is well placed to offer tailored domestic summer packages with inspirational itineraries that will enable them to fully discover their own country.  It’s not just the major destinations within the Kingdom such as Tabuk, Taif and Jeddah but also the lesser known but equally exciting ones like Jizan. Our themed packages cover natural terrains, culture, beach escapes and more and will help Saudi’s bring their country closer to them.”

Post-pandemic travel advice and safety consultations will be vital to Almosafer’s domestic tourism campaign, and therefore, a team of expert advisors are currently being trained through the brand’s integrated Almosafer Academy.

In addition to the domestic summer packages, the travel brand has additionally revealed several special promotional offers for domestic flights, hotel bookings and packages.
