Closely following The Ascott Limited’s (Ascott) recent announcement of Citadines Nivo Istanbul, which is expected to open for business in Q4 of 2019, the hospitality expert has revealed plans for a second Citadines-branded property in Istanbul – Citadines Maslak Istanbul.
Scheduled to open in Q2 of 2019, the new project will be located in Maslak 1453 – a lifestyle development nestled among the city’s business and leisure districts – and will complement Ascott’s Somerset Maslak Istanbul property in the same location.
In the perfect location for business and leisure travellers alike, guests will be within arm’s reach of the Istinye Park mall, the Türk Telecom Arena sports stadium and the Istanbul Sapphire, which is an integrated development home to retail and residential components.
Regional general manager – Middle East, Africa and Turkey, Ascott, Vincent Miccolis commented on the development: “Istanbul is a thriving city, for both business and leisure. It has increasingly become an attractive destination for investors and multinational corporations as a regional hub, and the number of tourists visiting is on the rise. Our research shows that occupancy levels have been gradually recovering since 2017. This, when coupled with the current deficiency in quality serviced apartments in the region, gives us confidence that Citadines Maslak Istanbul can meet the demands of the mid-market hospitality sector.”
Miccolis continued: “Both Citadines and Somerset Maslak Istanbul will provide the flexibility for short and long staying guests. However, the Citadines brand caters more comfortably for shorter staying guests and the Somerset brand’s services and facilities cater more towards extended staying guests. We see the two properties complementing the demand of both business and leisure travellers in the area.”
Citadines Maslak Istanbul will offer 148 spacious apartments, ranging from studios to four-bedroom units, equipped with kitchenettes, separate living and bedroom areas. Facilities at the hotel will include a gym and residents’ lounge. The property is surrounded by restaurants and cafes.
