AVANI Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to enter North Africa, with two new properties set to launch in Tunisia.

The group has partnered with Group Chaabane for the AVANI Les Berges Du Lac Tunis Suites, to be located in Les Berges du Lac II – a prime commercial, residential and diplomatic area in the country’s capital.

The property will house 41 serviced apartment accommodation options, ranging from studios to three-bedroom apartments and lofts.

Facilities will include an all-day dining restaurant, a health club, two spa treatment rooms, sauna and steam rooms, and an indoor swimming pool.

Meanwhile, currently in its design phase, the 250-key AVANI Gammarth Tunis Resort & Spa is scheduled to open its doors in 2021. The hotel will stand 20 minutes away from Tunis Airport and a mere 30 minutes from the city centre.

An upmarket coastal resort area of Tunis, Gammarth caters to a mix of leisure, government, corporate and MICE visitors. The resort will be integrated within a larger development that will comprise retail and entertainment zones.

A total of 232 rooms and 18 private beach villas will be available for guests, as well as five F&B outlets, a destination beach club, meeting space, a 1000m2 ballroom, a health club and AVANI Spa, two swimming pools and a kids’ club.

Vice president, AVANI Hotels & Resorts, Alejandro Bernabe spoke of the project: “We are really excited to be bringing our dynamic AVANI brand to North Africa with the launch of these two properties in Tunis. We look forward to working closely with Groupe Chaabane to launch the brand in the Tunisian capital, a market which we are confident has a lot of potential.”
