Expanding its portfolio into Malaysia, Best Western Hotels & Resorts has signed its first hotel in Kuching.
The new-build Best Western Plus Kuching is expected to welcome its first guests in 2018, providing a new midscale option for travellers to this emerging city.
Best Western Plus Kuching will offer 200 contemporary rooms and suites, all equipped with flat-screen televisions and international satellite channels, mini-bars and complimentary WiFi.
Additional facilities will include a restaurant serving local and international cuisines, a swimming pool and meeting and event space.
Managing director of international operations – Asia, Best Western Hotels & Resorts, Olivier Berrivin said: “Kuching has been growing in stature for several years now, and is becoming a key part of the East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA). Having hosted several key regional events, such as the ASEAN Tourism Forum and Routes Asia, Kuching is now firmly on the map for both leisure and business travel.
“As such, it was important that Best Western established a presence in this fast-growing emerging market. And I am thrilled that we have been able to achieve this with a brand new Best Western Plus hotel.”
