Granting greater connectivity between London and the Middle East, British Airways is introducing six flights a week to Tehran, Iran this July, and in Winter 2016 the service will increase to daily.
Taking off from London Heathrow’s Terminal 5, the flights will be operated by a four-class Boeing 777.
Head of network planning, British Airways, Neil Cottrell enthused on the news: “Iran is a large and growing economy and Tehran is a brilliant business city so we are incredibly excited to be adding another gateway to the Middle East for our customers.
“The recent lifting of sanctions opens up exciting new prospects for Iran as a tourist destination and with its rich heritage, unique architecture and world-class food it’s unsurprising Tehran is tipped to be a popular destination for 2016.”
Known as a bustling business centre, Tehran also comprises a variety of cultural attractions including mosques, fortresses and temples as well as the city’s Tachara Palace which is admired for its architecture.
The airline’s flights are inclusive of food and drink, free online check-in and seat selection 24 hours prior to departure.
