Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group to boost Makkah portfolio with two milestone properties

Bolstering its footprint in Saudi Arabia, the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has announced plans for two additional properties in Makkah, one of which will be the largest Radisson Blu hotel to date and the other, the largest Park Inn by Radisson-branded hotel ever.

This news follows the signing of a management agreement between the hospitality giant and the Saudi-based Al Majd Al Arabiah. The entire project will comprise of 2,850 keys.
Standing in the Aziziyah District in Makkah, Radisson Blu Hotel Al Hidaya will be located in the Al Hidaya Complex, which is already renowned among pilgrims.

Two towers will be initially converted to the Radisson Blu brand and will open in separate phases, with the first, boasting 588 rooms, scheduled to open in May 2018, and the second, home to 663 rooms, slated for a May 2019 opening.

The Radisson Blu Hotel Al Hidaya will additionally sit atop the Al Hidaya Gallery, a commercial retail avenue spanning 14,000m2.

The remainder of the Al Hidaya complex will be operated by Rezidor for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, and represents 3,250 rooms over eight individual towers.

Moving on, the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel Al Hajla will house 1,600 rooms. The hotel will be located just over 700m from the Haram and is scheduled to inaugurate in Q2 of 2019.
