The five-star Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld was recently voted Best City Hotel in Tourism Authority of Thailand’s (TAT) 2017 People’s Choice Awards.
The results were collected from a huge number of Chinese travellers, who participated in a poll by TAT. Thailand now welcomes over 10 million Chinese tourists per year.
Thailand-based Centara Hotels & Resorts is ever-working to entice the Chinese market. Of the group’s 66 luxury properties, 43 are based in Thailand’s major tourist destinations, while the other 23 are situated in various destinations including Vietnam, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Oman.
Most Centara properties comprise of Chinese-speaking staff and serve Chinese cuisine. Adding to this, Centara offers Chinese information about its hotels and destinations, promotions and online booking on its official website, which is now hosted in China for optimum speed.
The group also accepts the Chinese payment channel, UnionPay, in addition to major credit cards, and is active on China’s social media applications, Wiebo and WeChat.
Highlighting Centara Hotels & Resorts; commitment to China, the group recently concluded a roadshow which stopped off in five major Chinese cities, as well as Hong Kong. The roadshow aimed to raise awareness of the hospitality company and highlight the group’s expansion plans into China (beginning in 2019) and the Middle East.
