Thailand-based Centara Hotels & Resorts has announced plans for its fifth COSI-branded hotel.
Scheduled to open for business in 2022 in Chiang Mai, COSI Chiang Mai will stand on the popular Tha Phae road, a key central landmark and a short walk from the city’s iconic Ploen Ruedee Night Market.
The hotel will offer fast and free WiFi everywhere, will be fully smartphone-integrated and will offer USB charging points at every turn. Guests can use their phones to book, check in and out, and connect to an in-room SmartTV.
COSI Chiang Mai will house 130 guestrooms, a common social hub, a rooftop swimming pool and a laundromat.
Speaking on the project was CEO, Centara Hotels & Resorts, Thirayuth Chirathivat: “Chiang Mai has seen a constant growth of independent travellers and ‘digital nomads’. They value freedom, fun, and trendy digital experiences, rather than traditional hotel conventions. The COSI concept is our vision of what a hotel should be for today’s independent, connected travellers. We thought it through to make it simple, relaxed and affordable, yet perfectly in sync with the demands and needs of our guests’ lifestyles.
“Whether travelling for leisure or work, the newest COSI will capture the market with a perfect mix of location, innovation, seamless connectivity and total 24-hour freedom and flexibility. The COSI brand is made for a destination like Chiang Mai,” concluded Chirathivat.
The first COSI opened on Thailand’s Samui Island last December. Following its success, Centara launched its second COSI in Pattaya earlier this year and recently announced additional COSI projects in Krabi and Vientiane.
