AccorHotels has welcomed Yigit Sezgin as the chief commercial officer for the Middle East and Africa region.
In his new capacity, Sezgin will oversee all commercial disciplines for the region, including dedicated sales support, digital marketing, brand marketing, communications, loyalty, partnerships, business intelligence and revenue management.
His main priorities will be leading the group’s digital transformation in his area, driving brand development and delivery, as well as integrating business streams.
CEO, AccorHotels Middle East and Africa, Mark Willis commented on Sezgin’s appointment: “We are pleased to have Yigit return to Dubai and take on this critical position within our group. He’ll play a fundamental role in consolidating our commercial activity in the Middle East and Africa, driving our top-line performance and providing even healthier returns for our valued partners and stakeholders.”
Meanwhile, Sezgin said: “With two decades of international hospitality experience, I’m looking forward to bringing my global expertise to AccorHotels’ unique portfolio. Prior to joining AccorHotels, Sezgin worked for Bilgili Holding, a Turkish investment group devoted to developing real estate and tourism in Turkey and beyond, as CEO. Bilgili Holding’s portfolio contained an array of lifestyle and luxury properties such as the W Istanbul, Soho House, Peninsula Hotel, Aman Resorts, Ritz Carlton & Mandarin Oriental Residences, and the Radisson Blu Conference & Airport Hotel.
Throughout his career, Sezgin has lived and worked in eight international markets and has held a number of senior leadership roles with multinational groups including The Ritz-Carlton, Wilton International and Hilton Hotels. He also spent a decade with the Radisson Hotel Group.
