Dan Benzaquen, a French national, has assumed the position of cluster general manager of Mövenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay and Mövenpick Resort & Residences Aqaba in Jordan.
Over the past two years, he has served as the general manager of Mövenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay, where he has worked to introduce leisure-focused projects, including a jogging track, boot camp and a dedicated yoga area.
In his new, expanded role, he will work to improve personalisation and guest recognition.
Regional director, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts – Jordan, Michael Nugent enthused on Benzaquen’s appointment: “Dan is a young dynamic general manager who I am confident will lead our two resorts to even greater success, improving our competitive edge and strengthening our brand presence, not only in Aqaba, but in Jordan where our portfolio is strong.
“Appointing a cluster general manager also drives many operational synergies, and under Dan’s direction, we can expect more enhancements to services and facilities at Mövenpick’s stunning properties in this popular Red Sea destination.”
Early on in his career, Benzaquen worked a front office manager for Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in Dubai. He moved to Jordan to work as the executive assistant manager of Mövenpick Resort & Spa Dead Spa, and then moved on to his general manager position at Tala Bay.
Throughout his hospitality career he has also worked in China, the UAE, Thailand and Vientam, where he worked as the general manager of Evason Ana Mandara & Six Senses Spa.
“Everyone – no matter what age – wants to feel special and considered; these are classic principles that apply to every guest,” noted Benzaquen. “It’s a value embodied in Mövenpick’s we make moments business philosophy and in my new role I intend to ensure every guest and colleague feels valued and treated as a unique individual.”
