Copthorne Hotel Dubai has introduced a new transit package, encouraging passengers to exit Dubai International and spend a day or two in the buzzing city.

Starting from $68, guests can enjoy a stay in a superior room, inclusive of breakfast, WiFi, airport return drop-off, discounts on F&B and 24-hour check-in/check-out available. The package is on offer for stays until September 20, 2018.

The new offer follows the Dubai government’s approval to exempt transit passengers from all entry fees for the first 48 hours, which can be extended for up to 96 hours for a fee of $14.

Hotels, particularly those located close to the airport, have welcomed the decision, which will increase the number of stop-over travellers to Dubai.

General manager, Copthorne Hotel Dubai, Glenn Nobbs stated: “We welcome this new directive by the government of granting 48-hour entry into the country at no cost for transiting passengers. This will enable travellers passing through Dubai International to enjoy a day out in the city.

“Many travellers, who previously would not have considered stepping out of the airport when in transit, will now get a chance to explore the city and discover why it is one of the greatest destinations in the world. I hope the experience will encourage them to return to Dubai as the destination for their next holiday,” he concluded.

Copthorne Hotel Dubai is located within easy reach of the Deira City Center metro station, so travellers can hop from one station to another when visiting the city’s top attractions, such as the iconic Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Mall and the Dubai Frame. Visitors can also take an abra (boat) ride to see Al Seef, located on the banks of Dubai Creek near the Al Fahidi historical neighbourhood, where they can shop, dine and visit the Dubai Museum to learn the history of the UAE.
