Last year, Copthorne Hotel Dubai was strongly focused on the ever-growing MICE sector, and throughout 2017, the hotel witnessed a 12 per cent rise in bookings.
This year, the property is working to further capitalise on this fruitful sector and is therefore putting together tailor-made and flexible packages that expertly cater to the needs of business and leisure travellers alike. Copthorne Hotel Dubai will also be attending various trade shows, while its sales team will be adapting its strategy to focus more on MICE and corporate business.
“MICE is a very promising segment of business, thus, a lot of efforts and policies have been put in place for Dubai to become a leading destination for international business events,” explained general manager, Copthorne Hotel Dubai, Glenn Nobbs. “They are a major contributor to Dubai’s GDP, so targeting the MICE segment is always an important part of our strategy as it draws significant revenue for the hotel, and also contributes towards high profile exposure.”
The International Meetings Statistics Report has reported that the growth rate of Dubai’s MICE industry is expected to pass $1.39 billion and will increase by seven per cent each year until 2020. Meanwhile, the report pin-pointed Dubai as the most popular destination for trade shows and exhibitions in the Middle East.
Nobbs also shared that numerous travellers enhance their business trips by incorporating leisure components – either by bringing family along or by exploring the city following their meetings, events or conferences.
“These ‘bleisure’ travellers give us an opportunity to highlight the unique social and cultural value the city can offer and create a new revenue stream for the country,” he added.
Copthorne Hotel Dubai is currently promoting dedicated MICE delegate packages, offered at flexible rates according to the needs and requirements of customers. Throughout the year, the property will be enhancing and upgrading its facilities, to offer its guests an elevated hospitality experience.
