Marking a significant first, Gulf Air has appointed Shams Al Doseri as the country manager of its Addis Ababa station, making her the very first Bahraini female to run a Gulf Air station.
Al Doseri assumes her new challenge with eight years of airline sales experience. She started her career at Gulf Air as a sales executive and was later promoted to a sales manager before her recent appointment as country manager abroad.
Gulf Air has been operating flights to and from Addis Ababa in Ethiopia since 2011. Al Doseri will now represent Gulf Air in Ethiopia and will manage the airline’s office in its capital city. She will work to bolster the airline’s Africa connectivity.
“I am very proud and delighted to take this challenge and be the first Bahraini woman in Gulf Air to represent the national carrier outside the Kingdom,” Al Doseri enthused. “This assignment is of a national nature to me as I will not only promote my airline but also promote my beloved country to the world by encouraging more passengers to fly Gulf Air to or via Bahrain.”
