Bidroom, a no-commission hotel platform, has welcomed Maurizio Tripi as its new chief technology officer.
Tripi, who has over 25 years of technology experience, will work to speed up the company’s technology innovation. He will evolve the Bidroom platform with a rapid scale-up, keeping the flexibility to continue to challenge the market.
He commented: “Our first step is to transform IT into Engineering by introducing the best technologies available today – Cloud Native Applications, Microservices, Big Data Analytics, AI and DevSecOps practices – all managed with agile processes. Bidroom has a huge growth potential ahead and I am here to do what I love the most; scaling the product and its technology to perform with millions of users and supporting outstanding business agility.”
In order to achieve his mission, Tripi is aiming for 300 per cent expansion of the engineering team before 2020. Adding to this, he wants to shift the perspective from ‘platform management’ into a more ‘product management’ focused service development, to ensure the company’s product offering is far ahead of its competitors.
The addition of a brand-new chief technology officer to Bidroom’s senior ranks forms part of the Board of Directors’ vision to reach more than one million active users by 2020.
Co-founder and Chief operating officer, Bidroom, Michael Ros remarked on Tripi’s appointment: “The addition of a greatly experienced technology executive to our management team is another confident step for our next-level growth strategy.”
Bidroom continues its international expansion this year and is the first no-commission membership-based hotel platform with over 120,000 hotels from 128 countries already connected. Bidroom offers hoteliers direct bookings at no commission under an original ‘revenue first – pay later’ concept, while granting travellers up to 25 per cent lower hotel prices compared to other providers.
