Cyprus Airways has announced that it has officially joined IATA.
The Cypriot airline acquired the membership certificate during IATA’s event ‘Wings of Change Europe’ in Madrid on November 14.
Thrilled with the development, chief commercial officer, Cyprus Airways, Natalia Popova said: “We are extremely proud to receive the certificate of our IATA membership and to officially join the IATA family. The membership will enable Cyprus Airways to collaborate with other international member airlines for codeshare and interline agreements, and provide a seamless travel experience through an extended global network to travellers to and from Cyprus.”
The news of Cyprus Airlines joining the IATA family follows its successful completion of the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) registration in July of this year – a pre-requisite for an IATA membership.
Regional vice president – Europe, IATA, Rafael Schvartzman declared: “It is a great pleasure to welcome Cyprus Airways to the IATA family. Cyprus Airways plays a vital role connecting Cyprus with key markets in Europe, as well as the Middle East. I speak for myself and the rest of the team when I say that we look forward to further collaborative work together with Cyprus Airways in the future.”
