The meetings were held by the tourism board’s representatives including board member, CTO, Irodotos Irodotou and coordinator, department of promotion, CTO, Avgi Papageorgiou.
According to the organisation, heightened interest in Cyprus was witnessed from UAE tour operators as well as tour operators from the within the broader Middle East region.
The CTO delegation additionally met with representatives from various Indian companies who displayed great interest in the island and its offering. CTO also noted that potential visitors from this market can make use of flights via the UAE, as at present there are not direct flights to the island.
Meetings were also held with Emirates Airline and Etihad Airways own tour operating arms with scope for increasing the promotion of Cyprus as a destination. The two companies fly frequently to and from Cyprus.
