The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has achieved a five-star rating for business excellence, upon an assessment conducted by Brussels-based EFQM.
The ‘Recognised for Excellence’ (R4E) Recognition Programme was confirmed after a four-day assessment process at DCT Abu Dhabi’s Nation Towers offices this week, with DCT Abu Dhabi becoming the third entity in emirate to receive a five-star rating and the first to acquire it on the first attempt.
EFQM is a non-profit membership foundation in Brussels, dedicated to promoting business excellence. Each of DCT Abu Dhabi’s departments were individually appraised by assessors for procedural efficiency and effectiveness. After the rigorous interviews were completed, the EFQM team deliberated on the results before confirming DCT Abu Dhabi’s ‘tier one’ status, reflecting the Department’s commitment to high performance through best-practice management.
“We are delighted to have been recognised by EFQM for our performance and our achievements – and especially to have become the first entity to achieve five-stars on its first attempt,” executive director, strategy and planning sector, DCT Abu Dhabi, HE Nawal Al Hassani remarked. “As an organisation, we are unrelenting in our pursuit of excellence, and as the assessments clearly identified, our investment in our employees as a powerful resource, is paying off impressively.”
