In light of the UAE’s 45th National Day, Sharjah’s Department of Civil Aviation and Sharjah Airport Authority hosted a special ceremony at their headquarters.
Those attending the ceremony enjoyed the national anthem, reading of the Quran, poetry presented by Ali Alshowain and an ode sung by a young vocalist, Nahyan Al Loughani. Guests to the event also enjoyed a henna corner, a photo corner, a hospitality corner and more.
The ceremony was attended chairman, Department of Civil Aviation, HE Sheikh Khalid bin Issam Al Qassimi; chairman, Sharjah Airport Authority, HE Ali Salim Al Midfa; director, Department of Civil Aviation, HE Sheikh Sultan Bin Abdulla Al Thani; and director, Sharjah Airport Authority, HE Sheikh Faisal Bin Saoud Al Qassimi, as well as various officials, heads and staff.
During the occasion, Al Qassimi highlighted the importance of the commemoration of the Union every December 2, and explained that it refreshes the memory of the UAE’s great achievements.
He added that the significant developments seen today are the result of the efforts of the country’s founder Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who built a strong foundation for the state, and that National Day celebrations reflect the unity and loyalty of UAE nationals.
Also commenting during the special ceremony was Al Midfa, who said: “The government has followed the path of progress, excellence and overall renaissance since the founding of the Union. And now it [has implemented] an ambitious post-oil strategy plan until 2021. It has taken advanced steps toward securing the happiness of its people and residents. It continues to progress for a high-productivity, competitive, knowledge-based economy based on innovation, research, science and technology, while becoming in the ranks of advanced countries.”
