Valerie Barrie has been appointed as the new director of sales and marketing at JW Marriott Marquis Dubai.
A Scottish national, Barrie joins the team from Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Wild Wadi Waterpark where she served for three years as the director of sales and marketing for both the property and the waterpark.
In her newly acquired role, Barrie will work closely with JW Marriott Marquis Dubai’s senior management team to further bolster the hotel’s strategy across key market segments and the achievement of sales targets.
She will lead strategic campaigns across the property’s 1,608 rooms, 14 restaurants and lounges, Saray Spa and MICE facilities.
Barrie brings with her valuable hospitality management experience spanning the UAE, Australia and the UK. Throughout her career she has been responsible for leading the sales and marketing functions across various luxury properties including JW Marriott Dubai, Hyatt Regency Coolum (Australia), Novotel Twin Waters Resort (Australia) and Aberdeen Marriott Hotel.
