Director of sales and marketing, Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche, Archana Kawatra

Welcoming a new member, Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche has officially announced Archana Kawatra as its new director of sales and marketing.

In her newly assumed role, Kawatra will hold responsibility for the sales and business development of the 282-room property. The role entails identifying market trends, determining system improvements and implementing change.


She will also oversee the implementation of new initiatives to boost the property’s account portfolio, its seven F&B outlets, meetings and events and So Spa, by bringing in new business, increasing profitability and achieving a better positioning of the hotel in the key markets spanning the globe.

With more than 18 years of industry experience, Kawatra has worked for the Grand Millennium Al Wahda Abu Dhabi,  Rotana Corporate Sales Office and Hyatt in Dubai as well as  Taj Hotels, Leela Kempinski and The Ambassador Group of Hotels in Mumbai. She worked in various fields, including sales, marketing and guest relations.

Enthusing on her appointment, Kawatra declared: “I feel privileged to be part of the successful management team of Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche, one of the most elegant hotels in the capital. I will work with the sales team to drive sales and raise awareness of the brand.”
