Bringing with her 25 years of experience, Sue Wheatley has been appointed as the new director of sales and marketing of Fairmont The Palm, Dubai.
Wheatley joins the property from FRHI Hotels & Resorts where she served as executive director in charge of luxury sales across the company’s three brands: Fairmont, Raffles and Swissôtel. In her capacity she also oversaw an international team which had a presence in China, France, the UK and the US.
General manager, Fairmont The Palm, Mark Sawkins commented on Wheatley’s appointment: “Sue’s long association with Dubai and the region, her insider market knowledge and expertise within the luxury arena will further elevate Fairmont The Palm as we continue to push our strategic vision and position the resort as a leading destination.”
As director of sales and marketing, Wheatley will oversee the property’s sales and marketing activities, including the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy for every aspect of the 381-room resort.
Throughout her career she has driven sales and grown market share for regional and international high-end hotel brands such as London’s Grosvenor House, Raffles Dubai and the Burj Al Arab. Adding to this, Wheatley spend 12 years working for Jumeirah,
Wheatley is a graduate of the UK’s University of Surrey and holds BA in hotel management. She is an active contributor to the local business community as a member of the board of the British Business Group in Dubai and is a founding member of the Capital Club, a private club for Dubai’s corporate elite.
