Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah has welcomed Chris Laghoutis as director of sales and marketing.
Laghoutis joins the team in the hotel’s pre-opening phase. It is expected to open its doors for business by the end of 2021.
He assumes his new position with 20 years of valuable hospitality experience. Prior to joining the team, he worked at Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah as cluster director of sales, where he coached a team of eight sales professionals. Before that, he served as the opening director of business development at Saadiyat Rotana Resort and Villas, reporting to the general manager and leading a team of seven.
Laghoutis has also worked for Le Meridien, Starwood, InterContinental and Radisson in Cyprus and the UK.
He commented: “After what has been one of the most challenging years for myself and our hospitality Industry, I am thrilled to announce that I am joining the Accor family for the very exciting new opening of the Movenpick Resort Al Marjan Island, Ras Al Khaimah.
“This landmark, family-friendly resort is anticipated to open at the end of the year, so stay tuned for more news and updates as we get closer to the opening date,” he added.
Mövenpick Resort Al Marjan Island will boast 418 keys, including 28 beachfront chalets with private pools and gardens. The hotel will feature the longest suspended bridge (36m) found anywhere in Ras Al Khaimah.
