Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) recently welcomed members of the Economic and Commercial Counselor for the Chinese Consulate in Dubai at its headquarters.
The Chinese delegation met with members of Dubai Tourism to discuss the collaborations and integrated marketing campaigns between the two markets.
CEO, Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Issam Kazim attended the gathering to speak about the city’s successful market diversification efforts and strategic alliances, which will expand Dubai Tourism’s reach and penetration within China, opening up areas for collaboration in the foreseeable future.
Dubai Tourism has recently forged new alliances with Chinese tech-giants Huawei, Tencent and Fliggy, in order to provide Chinese users with easy access to Dubai’s travel products and advanced content solutions, enhancing their travel experience across the city.
During the meeting, Dubai’s advanced infrastructure and facilities were discussed, highlighting how the city is an ideal option for Chinese companies to start businesses in the region, while Dubai Tourism emphasised how Dubai is a welcoming city for key Chinese audience segments.
China represents one of the city’s top five source markets, with the latest figures reporting a nine per cent year-on-year jump (401,000 visitors) in Chinese travellers to the emirate from January to May, 2018. Chinese travellers are now able to travel to the UAE seamlessly, with visas now being provided upon arrival.
