Growing its footprint in the Philippines, Dusit International recently inked a hotel management agreement with Robinsons Land Corporation for the five-star Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu, which is expected to inaugurate in Q4 of 2018.

Standing on the northern peninsula of Mactan island, the beachfront resort will be the ideal option for both business and leisure travellers.

As well as 271 guest rooms, facilities will include a spa, a fitness centre, a lobby lounge, three restaurants with al fresco and private dining, a large infinity pool and more than 1,200m2 of meeting space.

Only a few kilometres from Cebu, Mactan island is a popular choice among high-end travellers seeking unparalleled luxury. Those visiting the island can enjoy various activities, including diving, snorkelling and sailing, while the destination is also home to the only aquarium attraction in the Visayas.

The brand new Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu will represent the third hotel in the Philippines to fall under the Dusit Thani brand. It will join the Dusit Thani Manila and the upcoming Dusit Thani Residence Davao. Other hotels in the pipeline include DusitPrincess Cebu City, dusitD2 Davao and dusitD2 Resort, San Juan.

Pleased with the development, group CEO, Dusit International, Suphajee Suthumpun noted: “Partnering with hotel owners in key markets such as the Philippines is essential to Dusit International’s long term sustainable and profitable growth. Robinsons Land Corporation’s reputation for quality developments is second to none. We are delighted they have chosen us to manage their property and we look forward to making it a huge success under our esteemed Dusit Thani brand.”

Meanwhile, president, Robinsons Land Corporation, Frederick Go added: “Mactan Island has the potential to become an even greater tourism destination, and there’s no better way to fuel that growth than by partnering with an international five-star hotel operator such as Dusit International to manage our upscale resort development.”
