VisitBritain was created on 1 April 2003 with a remit to market Britain to the rest of the world and England to the British. It was formed from the merger of the British Tourist Authority and the English Tourism Council.
Our goal is to increase the contribution tourism makes to the British economy by using innovative and effective marketing and by working closely with partner organisations to drive up visitor numbers and spend.
