EgyptAir’s inaugural A220-300 aircraft completed its inaugural test flight last week from the Mirabel assembly line.
The Egyptian carrier is due to receive the first of 12 of these aircraft in the coming weeks. The A220 will elevate the flying experience, offering passengers superior comfort. The aircraft boasts the widest economy seats of any single-aisle aircraft and boasts panoramic windows for more natural light. It is outfitted with a brand-new cabin layout of 134 seats and will enter its final phase of completion prior to being delivered.
The A220 delivers unbeatable fuel efficiency and brings together state-of-the-art aerodynamics, advanced materials and Pratt & Whitney’s latest-generation PW1500G geared turbofan engines to offer at least 20 per cent lower fuel burn per seat compared to previous generation aircraft. With an impressive range of up to 6,300km, the A220 offers the performance of larger single-aisle aircraft.
