Strengthening its bond with Turkey, Greek airline, Ellinair, recently launched Izmir-Thessaloniki flights, which are scheduled for Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Marking the occasion was a launch ceremony, which was held at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport – operated by TAV Airports and was attended by a number of high-profile guests.
General manager, Tav Ege, F. Erkan Balcı remarked: “Being amongst the most significant tourism and trade cities of the country, Izmir opens its gates to the world with the new destinations included to our flight network. Today, we are connected to 20 domestic destinations as well as 74 international destinations at 27 countries with direct flights performed from Adnan Menderes Airport.
Commenting on the start of Ellinair’s Izmir services, he added: “We are glad to connect Izmir and Thessaloniki with Ellinair. We believe the deep-routed history and continuously progressing relationship between Turkey and Greece, particularly in recent years, will further improve the tourism sector.”
