Emirates Airline is celebrating two decades of successful services to Lahore and Islamabad in Pakistan.
The carrier has witnessed year-on-year growth on these two routes, and over the past 20 years, it has transported over 8.4 million travellers to and from the destinations.
Dubai has emerged as a popular hub among travellers from Lahore and Islamabad, with many of them travelling via Dubai to Jeddah, Madinah and Baghdad for religious purposes. London, New York, Manchester and Birmingham have also proven popular.
Vice president – Pakistan, Emirates Airline, Jabr Al-Azeeby declared: “We are embarking on a real milestone, as we celebrate 20 years of service to Islamabad and Lahore. Pakistan is a major market for Emirates Airline and we take great pride in the role we play in providing global connectivity both for business and leisure passengers who are travelling from Pakistan to Dubai and beyond. Lahore and Islamabad are also vital cargo destinations for Emirates Airline, and over the last five years, a total of 123,962 tonnes has been transported. Key exports and imports include fresh fruit and vegetables, fish, meat, machinery and equipment.
