Due to represent its second gateway in Iran, Emirates Airline is launching flights to Mashhad on September 1 of this year.
The carrier will offer five weekly services to the city, operated by an Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
Flights will depart on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from Dubai. EK967 will depart Dubai at 04:10, arriving at Mashhad International Airport at 07:00. The return flight, EK968 will depart Mashhad International Airport at 08:45, arriving in Dubai at 10:45. Services will be operated by a combination of a three class and two class configured A330-200.
“Mashhad’s addition to our global network will enable us to provide flexibility and choice for customers creating new inbound and outbound markets for tourism,” remarked divisional senior vice president commercial operations centre, Emirates Airline, Sheikh Majid Al Mualla.
“We look forward to boosting traffic in and out of Mashhad and drawing in visitors from a host of points across our global network including cities in Europe, India, Pakistan, the GCC, as well as Far East destinations like Bangkok,” he added.
Mashhad attracts over two million foreign visitors a year. In close proximity to Central Asian countries, the city hosts a plethora of international exhibitions each year, and represents the country’s second most active exhibition centre after Tehran. In 2014, Emirates Airline carried more than half a million passengers to and from Iran.
