Etihad Airways has enhanced its Abu Dhabi-Casablanca route with a state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
Executive vice president commercial, Etihad Airways, Mohammad Al Bulooki commented on the development: “The introduction of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner on the Abu Dhabi to Casablanca route demonstrates our clear commitment to the very important Moroccan market.
“Travellers between the two cities will now be able to experience the unparalleled levels of comfort, entertainment and inflight connectivity of this next-generation aircraft, and to seamlessly connect through the Abu Dhabi hub to our network across the Gulf, Asia and Australia,” he added.
The airline’s three-class version of the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner features eight private First Suites, 28 Business Studios and 199 Economy Smart Seats.
With the introduction of the new aircraft comes a scheduling change that optimises timings for those travelling between Abu Dhabi and Casablanca. Etihad Airways will maintain its morning arrival into Casablanca, but now operates a revised mid-morning return flight that provides an earlier, more convenient evening arrival time in Abu Dhabi. This update improves connectivity to a wider network of destinations, such as Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo.
Further enhancing its Morocco connectivity, Etihad Airways has added a third weekly service to Rabat, the Moroccan capital, which operates on Saturdays until May 12. This will recommence on June 30, running until September 29.
