Marking a milestone, Etihad Airways has acquired its 10th and final Airbus A380.
In light of the special delivery, the airline’s employees and Airbus delegates gathered at the European plane-manufacturer’s Hamburg Finkenwerder plant in Germany. The aircraft was officially handed over to Etihad Airways, and following this, it embarked on its first flight to the UAE capital city.
The double-decker A380s are currently the most customised aircraft in commercial service. Special features aboard Etihad’s A380s include The Residence, a three-room living space for up to two guests, which comprises a living room, a private shower-room and a bedroom.
Adding to this, the aircraft houses nine First Apartments, 70 Business Studios, a Lobby Lounge and 415 Economy Smart Seats.
The Abu Dhabi-based airline utilises these state-of-the-art aircraft on services from the UAE to London, Sydney and New York. As of July 1, the A380 will be deployed to service the airline’s Paris route.
