Dedicated to improving the online experience for its valued customers, Etihad Airways has launched an upgraded version of etihad.com.

Following the refresh, travellers can now seamlessly plan their trip, search for information and manage their bookings.

The re-launched website is now live globally on all of Etihad Airways’ site editions in 16 languages. The end-users of etihad.com can now enjoy faster loading pages – a result of cleaner redesigned content, images and graphics. An easier-to-navigate site and a reduction in the number of pages makes it simpler for people to access the information that they seek.

Chief digital officer, Etihad Aviation Group, Frank Meyer commented: “Enhancing the guest experience is at the heart of what we do. Knowing travellers increasingly turn to digital channels to manage their journey, we completely redesigned our website to provide a superior digital experience.”

The upgraded website has now been designed to be responsive on any device, be it a smart phone, tablet or desktop. An impressive 25 per cent more customers are now accessing self-service functionalities and checking in online thanks to the newly integrated technology, which supports flight tickets booked through all channels. Previously, this was only available to those who booked directly through Etihad.

Meyer further noted: “This achievement marks a major milestone on our digital roadmap and follows on from other recent successes in the digital space. Last year, we deployed customised offers to allow our guests to choose more personalised travel options online before their flight. The digital ecosystem is changing and we are looking to the future.”

Further website enhancements are in the pipeline and include a new booking engine to provide a consistent end-to-end user journey that is mobile responsive and features a more user-friendly payment system. Guests wishing to travel will be able to pay with cash, Etihad Guest Miles or a combination of cash plus miles.

The next phase will grant users a more seamless digital experience when navigating between Etihad Airways for flight bookings, Etihad Guest for loyalty offers and Etihad Holidays for packages, allowing guests to manage their entire Etihad travel experience from a single portal.
