Emirates Park Zoo and Resort in Abu Dhabi has opened its latest extension spanning over 6,500m2, which is home to a number of exotic animals, including a hippopotamus, camels, sheep, goats and birds.
The new space will allow visitors to witness the zoo’s newest members, while for entertainment and educational purposes, fun animal shows will be hosted at the contemporary amphitheatre, that seats 400 persons.
The completed extension represents the first stage of Emirates Park Zoo and Resort’s renovations. The project aims to transform the park into a premium zoo-resort destination in the region.
The new extension was officially opened by chairman, Emirates Park Zoo and Resort, Dr. Nasser Lkhreibani Al Nuaimi.
Commenting on the development was zoo operations manager, Emirates Park Zoo and Resort, Dr. Waleed Sha’aban: “It was a powerful experience to be on ground level with the animals and see them in their natural habitat. We try to give our visitors a coherent sense of the authentic environment like the African savanna or the Australian outback.”
He concluded: “We believe that guests will fall in love and connect with our animal family who are some of the world’s most amazing and disappearing wildlife.”
