The first ever Sharjah Summer Festival is scheduled commence today (June 11), and will run until the end of August.
The launch of the Sharjah Summer Festival represents another innovative Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA)-led initiative, which has been designed not only to revitalise the local tourism sector, but also promote indoor tourism and diversify Sharjah’s recreational attractions.
Visitors to the emirate can make the most of an array of events, activities and exciting shopping offers.
The events during the Sharjah Summer Festival will be divided into two sections: indoor activities, which will be staged in malls and other strategic indoor locations; and outdoor activities to be held at beaches, parks and waterparks.
Thrilled with the launch was chairman, SCTDA, Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, who said: “The festival will feature major entertainment, recreational, and cultural activities to be held in cooperation with our partners. The Sharjah Summer Festival is another step for us to offer more fun activities during summer vacation as we are keen on launching similar festivals and events in the near future to enhance the local tourism sector and boost Sharjah’s positioning as one of the world’s most favoured family destinations.”
